Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered brings classic Lara Croft adventures to modern platforms, but while the visual enhancements are commendable, the overall experience feels stuck in the past.
The upgraded graphics, including improved textures and lighting, breathe new life into the environments, making them more immersive and visually appealing. However, beyond the facelift, these remasters function almost identically to their original versions from over two decades ago.

Despite being told that control functionality was an upgrade, the stiff controls, clunky movement, and outdated mechanics remain seemingly untouched, making gameplay frustrating by today’s standards.
The tank-style controls and rigid platforming, once a product of their time, now feel archaic rather than nostalgic. While longtime fans may appreciate the preservation of the original gameplay, new players will likely struggle with its lack of modernization.

Though the remastered collection offers a faithful trip down memory lane, it ultimately misses an opportunity to refine the experience for contemporary audiences.
If you can overlook the aged mechanics, the graphical overhaul makes for an enjoyable revisit, but for those hoping for meaningful improvements beyond visuals, these remasters may disappoint.
