Capcom will be launching a beta for Street Fighter V exclusively on PlayStation 4 later this month. They’ve released some new details about what players can expect.
The beta will launch on July 23rd at 6pm PST and run for five days. This is being done in order for Capcom to stress test the servers with actual players.
There will be a total of six playable characters throughout the course of the game. These are the same characters that where available for the E3 demo. Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, and M. Bison will be available from the beginning, while Cammy and Birdie will be added on July 25. These two are being included in this way in order to test out the new content delivery system.
When players start the game and go past the start screen, they’ll choose a character and be put into training mode until an opponent can be found online. After that, both will be taken to the versus screen to head into their match. After matches, players will be taken to what is called the Grid where they will wait for another match. Since this beta is being done to stress test the servers, there will be no local versus play.
The beta will feature three stages. Two of these stages, Bustling Side Street and Terminal Station, have already been seen but a new stage, Forgotten Waterfall will make its debut during the beta.

Sign-ups will close on 7/15. Users who are selected to participate in the Beta will receive an email on 7/24 with instructions on how to access their Beta redemption key.
