A few weeks back, Rockstar announced that the current-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V would have a first-person mode. Today on the PlayStation Blog, they’ve released a new video which shows us the world of Los Santos and Blaine County from an entirely new perspective.
This isn’t just simply the same Grand Theft Auto V in first-person as certain things had to be adjusted and fixed to accommodate the point of view. These include a new first person cover system, a new targeting system, a more “traditional” first person control scheme, and new new animations just for this mode. Players will be able to switch between first person and the standard third person view with the press of a button.
As you can see from the video, this mode looks pretty cool. I like that Rockstar went the extra mile to make this a true first person experience with all of the new animations added. Driving looks even more intense in first person and shooting looks like it will be more accurate due to the different point of view. A lot of HD remasters are nothing more than just the same game with fancier textures but GTAV will actually feel like a brand new game thanks to this addition.
Grand Theft Auto V will be released on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18.
