The fate of Kratos’ upcoming PSP prequel may be in jeopardy. Today developer Ready At Dawn announced that there will be layoffs at their California-based studio resulting in the loss of 13 jobs. Ready At Dawn whose back-catalog consists of several gems including God Of War: Chains Of Olympus and Okami for the Wii made the announcement via their official website this morning, stating “We simply couldn’t keep them on board while one project finishes and another ramps up.”
PSP titles never fare well at retail so its unsurprising that a studio who specializes in PSP software would be struggling to make ends meet. No word yet on if or how this will affect the upcoming God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta but less professionals working on a project is very seldom a good thing.
Hold your heads up guys, The Koalition wishes you well on all your future endeavours.
