Update: EA’s director of corporate communications, Jeff Brown, told IGN that the story was “a total fabrication — 100 percent not true.”
Nintendo may not be the only one set to unveil new hardware at this year’s E3, that’s if UK-based Develop magazine is to be believed. According to their “senior, trusted, well-placed” source, Microsoft has shipped early development kits for their new console to EA making an E3 2011 reveal “likely”. The development kits are apparently housed inside PC shells which indicates that these builds are extremely early but their source says that this is common place inside the development community.
I’m pretty sure Nintendo is hoping that this news isn’t true and I personally don’t think it is, but we’ll know for sure next month!
