Shinobi Returns On Nintendo 3DS

I remember having fond memories on the Sega Genesis with the Shinobi cartridge on deck. Since the 90’s, Shinobi took a few years off until we saw the ninja once again on the PS2 in 2002. Since then, Shinobi has been on yet another hiatus but will be returning this September. Sega has now official announced a new Shinobi game that will be exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS.

Shinobi is being developed by Griptonite Games, and is said to be returning to its fan favorite roots. The game will feature the classic side-scrolling action that we know, achievements and challenges, and new features dealing with “Street Pass”. Though the game may sound all fine and dandy, the screenshots released don’t excite me much. I must say, the graphics look awful even for a 3DS title. Hopefully the 3D makes the game more visually appealing.

Check out the first set of images and the first trailer for Shinobi below. Let me know what you think.
