Darksiders co founder and creative director, Joe Madureira, announced earlier today that he is leaving Vigil Games after 7 years of service. He made the news official by typing up the following message on his facebook page:
“I’m afraid the time has come for me to move on to new adventures. I could not be more proud of what we achieved, or the awesome people who helped build up this studio. I can safely say Vigil’s future is in very good hands, so expect only awesomeness down the road. This feels surreal…I miss the place already.”
Next up for Joe will be a series of several comic projects which he will be revealing in the weeks to come. As for the future of the Darksiders series, many fans will be left to wonder how the franchise can continue without Joe’s brilliant art style and creative vision.
