VGAs 2012 Winners Announced

The 2012 Spike Video Games Awards show officially wrapped last night at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, CA. Below is a detailed rundown of all of the winners who were recognized during last night’s festivities:

  • Best XBOX 360 Game: Halo 4 (Microsoft Studios/343 Industries)

  • Best Wii / Wii-U Game: New Super Mario Bros. U (Nintendo)
  • Best PC Game: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (2K Games/Firaxis Games)
  • Best Handheld / Mobile Game: Sound Shapes (Sony Computer Entertainment/Queasy Games)

  • Best Social Game: You Don’t Know Jack (Jellyvision Games)

Last week, we recorded a podcast on who we thought the winners would be and for the most part I think we came close with our predictions. As for the show itself, I found the Samuel L. Jackson skits and surprise announcements to be very disappointing overall. Another equally annoying part about the show is that several game awards were announced backstage prior to the actual show. If this is the programming format that Spike sticks to moving forward, then I most certainly won’t be watching this awards show anymore.
