Ubisoft has delayed the release of it’s latest Splinter Cell title, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, to August 20th of this year.
The game was originally scheduled for the vague ‘Spring 2013’ so fans of the series will be relieved that a more exact date of August 20th has been announced.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist pits Sam Fisher, leader of the newly formed Fourth Echelon, against the Blacklist, a terrorist ultimatum counting down to a series of terrorist attacks on the US. The game takes place on the Iran/Iraq border as Fisher attempts to stop these deadly attacks from taking place.
Along with the new date, Ubisoft has released a trailer which shows you some of the action Sam Fisher will be getting up to.
After surprising us with gameplay footage at last years E3, Ubisoft had to respond to criticism that the new game seemed too action orientated. The stealthiness of Fisher is what long time Splinter Cell fans want and Ubisoft has been defiant that this game will appeal even to the hardcore fans.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist releases on August 20th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
