Today, Microsoft confirmed via their blog that Hitman: Absolution, and Deadlight will both be available for free during the April “Games With Gold” promotion.
The promo kicks off with Hitman: Absolution which will be available for download to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers from April 1st to April 16th. This is the fifth entry in the popular Hitman series and easily the most ambitious outing yet full of thought provoking kills and an intriguing Contracts mode. Content Writer Asad Quadri wrote a great Hitman: Absolution review that is worth checking out if you’re still on the fence with this one.
On April 16th, the promo will continue with Deadlight taking over as the free game for the rest of the month. This 2012 side-scrolling survival horror title failed to impress the critics and is easily one of the most disappointing games to ever debut during Xbox Live’s ongoing Summer of Arcade promotion.
This month’s Games With Gold offerings aren’t horrible, but are still slightly disappointing. While Hitman: Absolution may still be a rare favorite among a select crowd of people, the fact of the matter is that the game is still old. If you never purchased or played Absolution, then you’ll absolutely want to take advantage of this offer while it lasts.
Will any of you be downloading either one of these games for free? Are you still hopeful that Games With Gold will deliver as the year goes on? Please feel free to let me know your thoughts on this and more in the comments section below.
