Earlier today, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa confirmed in a blog post that Bloodborne has been delayed until March 24th, 2015 in North America. The game is also scheduled to launch on March 25th in Europe and March 28th in the UK. Yamgiwa released the following statement to serve as an explanation for the delay:
While development continues unabated, we would like our team to deliver the best possible final experience. We were gratified by the feedback and data we received from those who participated in our limited Alpha test. The extra production time will also allow us to better integrate these learnings.
In addition to this news, Bloodborne Producer Jun Yoshino has expressed interest in bringing a Photo Mode to the game. While it’s currently unclear if this will happen, my best guess is that the extra development time will make this feature even more likely now.
Prior to this announcement, Bloodborne was expected to launch the same month as The Order: 1886 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The decision to delay this was smart because it gives gamers a little bit of breathing room in between releases.
Are any of you looking forward to playing Bloodborne early next year? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the delay and more in the comments section below.
