Today at Sony’s keynote – live from Paris Games Week – Polyphony Digital announced the first Gran Turismo game to hit the PlayStation 4, Gran Turismo Sport.
Creator Kazunori Yamauchi hit the stage to talk about the game in full detail. The game will feature two FIA championships running simultaneously throughout the year; The Nations Cup and the The Manufacturer’s Fan Cup. Players will be able to represent both their country and chosen car manufacturer. This gives the game an element of eSport competition.
In terms of quality, Yamauchi also aims to improve every aspect of the Gran Turismo engine.
“The graphics, physics engine and audio are all going to improve significantly, but our ambition is much great than that. The vision is to invoke the rebirth of motorsports.”
said Yamauchi on stage.
Yamauchi also announced that there would be a beta early 2016, but there was no mention of a release window for the full game.
