Guitar Hero Live has just been announced by Activision, with a new look controller. The game is confirmed to be releasing later on this year, and will allow players to personify the role of a guitarist in a concert for the first time. This reboot is being developed by FreeStyleGames, the UK studio behind DJ Hero.
Guitar Hero Live is coming to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and select mobile devices this fall with an estimated price of $99.99. Fans are able to try out the game at Best Buy Theatre in New York City from 6pm ET to 9pm ET today.
Rock Band by Harmonix is also set to return this year, although Harmonix’s Rock Band 4 will offer full compatibility with previous instruments and song DLC. Guitar Hero Live has been confirmed to be non-compatible with older versions. We don’t have much details on the playlist yet, but be sure to check back for more updates. For now check out the reveal trailer above.
