After all the months of speculation, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have finally cast their next Spider-Man.
Asa Buttefield will hold the colossal crown which had all of Hollywood going aflutter and Billy Unger basically launching his own “Please Hire Me” campaign.
While details are scarce, Marvel did reveal Peter Parker will make his appearance in Captain America: Civil War on May 16th 2016, which is currently in production.
From there, Parker will get three to four solo movies, each covering a year of high school who’ll already have been bitten by the radioactive spider (amen for no beating the origin dead horse).
The July 28th 2017 coming of age Spider-Man’s solo movie as described by Marvel Studios genius Kevin Feige and Sony’s Amy Pascal will have the tone of a John Hughes movie with humor and emotion, just with the added complications of being a superhero.
Here’s hoping they don’t screw it up.
