The Best Games Out This Week – 2/9/2016

After a slow start to the year for game releases, February is already upping the ante in just about every way imaginable. XCOM 2 and Gravity Rush Remastered were major highlights last week and the perfect setup for what we can expect from the gaming gods this week. Below is a quick list of several notable titles that are definitely worth picking up on Tuesday.

Full Title: Unravel
Developer: Coldwood Interactive
Publisher: Electronic Arts

Unravel is the charming physics-based puzzle platformer that captivated audiences everywhere during EA’s E3 2015 conference last June. Coldwood Interactive has succeeded in creating a memorable character that fans will not only admire but also grow to learn the true meaning of love and life from. If you’re looking for a unique platformer with a message, then you definitely should play this game.

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PC, Linux, and OS X

Firewatch is a single player adventure game that follows the trials and tribulations of a fire lookout shortly after the Yellowstone fires of 1988. This is the first title from San Francisco based development studio Campo Santo and is already shaping up to be one of the most intriguing indie titles of the year. If you’re looking for a beautiful and unique adventure game, then you absolutely can’t go wrong with Firewatch.

Full Title: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

Publisher: Bandai Namco Entertainment
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is simply put the final entry in the popular Naruto: Ultimate Ninja fighting game series. This sequel was built from the ground up for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and offers slight enhancements to gameplay features from previous installments. If you’re a Naruto or fighting game fan, then Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is definitely for you.

Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Dying Light: The Following is a standalone expansion for last year’s incredible open world first person survival game. This expansion includes a new storyline, enhanced gameplay mechanics, new characters and weapons. If you enjoyed the original Dying Light, then picking up this expansion is an absolute no brainer.
