Earlier today, Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment revealed that The Outer Worlds will be released on the Nintendo Switch after launching on other platforms later this year. The announcement trailer embedded above includes a few more details while a general description of the upcoming RPG is included below.
The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division. Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
Having seen The Outer Worlds during a special presentation at E3 2019, I can personally say that this game looks absolutely fantastic. Fans of the Borderlands series will definitely enjoy the sense of humor displayed within this world and be surprised by just how deep and immersive the RPG elements are.
The Outer Worlds launches on October 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. While there is no confirmed release for the Nintendo Switch version yet, we will most likely make hear news about this within the next few months. Are any of you planning on picking up the game?
