WSOP Online Game

The biggest fixture in the poker calendar is almost here – the World Series of Poker 2019. Poker professionals and those hoping to try their luck in pursuit of serious cash prizes and much-coveted bracelets will be descending on the Las Vegas strip as of the end of May. And this year isn’t just your run of the mill World Series of Poker – this is the 50th year, which means more tournaments, more surprises, and most importantly more money in that prize fund. While you might be unable to participate this year, or might not be ready, you can still get your fix of online poker on WSOP.com. Who knows, with a little practice, this time next year, you could be packing for Vegas. Today, we’re taking a look at the WSOP online game and what it offers…

Getting Started

Fortunately, it’s nice and simple to access the WSOP online game. All you need is iOS hardware, a decent Internet connection and to be over the age of 21, and you’re good to go. You’ll need to register for an account, and then geolocation technology will be used to determine whether or not you are located in Nevada – if you are, you can play for Real Money. But, first things first…let’s see how you can work on your skills.

Choosing Your Game

WSOP.com allows you to play for free, plus it has a Poker Lobby, where you can peruse the tables, player statistics and information for each table before deciding where to leap on it. Helpfully, you can filter your table search to find just what you’re in the mood for – whether that’s Texas hold’em Omaha, Stud, Sit & Go, or a tournament. This useful feature also allows you to filter by stakes, table availability and the number of players. If the table you have your eye on is already full – just click to be added to the waiting list, then kick back and wait for your time to shine!

Beginners Unite!

If you’re new to poker and have no clue how to select the best table for yourself, your best bet is to head to the Quick Seat. This selection of low-stakes tables features three cash games and three Sit &Go tournaments. You can check the stats by scanning your mouse over each table to determine the game type, who you’re competing against and the maximum buy-in for the table.

While WSOP.com may be a far cry from the glitz and glam of Las Vegas itself, playing online is the perfect way to explore the game to see if you have the talent necessary to make it to the big leagues.
