During today’s 40-minute Nintendo Direct presentation, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom got an official release date of May 12th, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch. A brief but exciting gameplay trailer with the official announcement is embedded above.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to Breath of the Wild and has been in development since 2017. The first teaser trailer dropped in 2019 and fans have been anticipating this game ever since.
Details are still scarce on what we can expect from the story and gameplay improvements but we definitely will learn more about these things in the months ahead. For the time being, the official key art image has been included below.
