BMF Season 4 Trailer Reaction – Lamar and B-Mickie Return

STARZ debuts the high-octane trailer and accompanying key art for the upcoming fourth season of its hit crime and family drama, BMF, which returns Friday, June 6, with all-new episodes available to stream weekly on Fridays on the STARZ app. The explosive trailer teases the feud brewing between the drug organization’s leaders and brothers – Meech and Terry Flenory, as they launch their own music label in the Atlanta hip-hop scene and expand the business into new national territories during the 1990s. The brothers must also overcome insurmountable obstacles — from the growing police presence to their revenge-driven oldest rival, it’s hard to trust anyone… even each other. As the pressure and tension mount, it leads to explosive conflict and resentment between the brothers.

As seen in the trailer below and our breakdown above, Meech is finally starting his own label. “The music game could put us up on connects. That puts us at half a ton of weight in every state. We’re about to take BMF to a whole ‘nother level.” Joining forces with his brother Terry, he attended the 1995 Hip Hop Source Awards, which was one of the most influential moments in the history of hip-hop that saw Snoop Doggy Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, The Notorious B.I.G., Outkast, and more catapult to fame. But not everything was peaches and cream, as some would argue the event escalated tensions between the East and West Coast hip-hop communities, likely contributing to the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.

Despite their new venture, family is still number one to the brothers, who are seen dining with their parents and little sister. But not even family is safe when Markisha Taylor desires to drive a wedge between the brothers. “He’s trusting other people before you,” she tells Terry. “I keep telling you, you can do this by yourself,” she continues as we see the brothers brush each other’s shoulders in a tense moment. Markisha’s inspirational talk must have worked, as Terry declares, “I’m calling the shots now.”

In another scene we see the return of Myles Truitt as B-Mickie, who was last seen in the season 2 finale of BMF. B-Mickie was kicked out of the BMF family after Meech told him he couldn’t trust him anymore, thus ending their friendship. After disappearing from season 3, he now wants back in with the family and the business, but is he in search of revenge or to clear his conscience? After all, B-Mickie has lost everything in the name of the BMF family, including the love of his life, Kato, and their unborn child after finding out she was a snitch.

One of the biggest surprises is the return of Eric Kofi-Abrefa as Lamar, the brothers’ arch nemesis who was forced to become a drug addict at the end of season two, after the brothers paid Alvin, Donnell Rawlings (Spider-Man 2, “Chappelle’s Show”), Lamar’s comedic cousin to keep him addicted. Lamar has been trying to kill the brothers since season 1, even targeting their parents.

Speaking of parents, Russell Hornsby (Fences, The Hate U Give) as Charles Flenory and Michole Briana White (“Dead to Me,” She Hate Me) as Lucille Flenory are back and newly divorced. Charles has spent his time touring with his band, while Lucille has moved up in the church ranks after an embarrassing breakup with her college friend. Will Charles and Lucille find their way back to each other, or will Charles continue to mow the grass on someone else’s lawn (again)? Stacey Sargeant (The Forty-Year-Old VersionCome Sunday) is teased to play Cecilia, a waitress who complicates Charles’ dreams.

Rounding out the season 4 cast is Emmy Award-winning actor Michael Chiklis (“The Shield,” Fantastic Four) becomes the latest notable cast addition, portraying DEA “Agent Taylor,” a no-nonsense cop who assists in the pursuit of BMF, while adding to Meech and Terry’s growing list of enemies.

Guest stars this season include Kofi Siriboe (“Queen Sugar,” “Insecure”) as “Sheik Mooney Bey,” leader of a religious organization in St. Louis, Tyler Lepley (“Harlem,” “P-Valley”) as “Demarcus,” a man who threatens Tee’s territory and Skai Jackson (“Jessie,” “Bunk’d”) as “Ashleigh,” a new character who changes Meech’s future. Clifton Powell also joins the cast (“Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” Ray) as “Pastor Coleman,” head of an Atlanta mega-church congregation; Rockmond Dunbar (“9-1-1,” “Sons of Anarchy”) as “Cornell,” a man fighting for his son’s future, Aketra Sevillian (“Days of Our Lives,” “Sex Lives of College Girls”) as “Maria,” an alluring make-up artist who catches Meech’s eye, Karina Willis (“The Other Black Girl,” “Genius”) as “Aisha,” who’s welcomed into the Flenory family and Stacey Sargeant (The Forty-Year-Old VersionCome Sunday) as “Cecilia” a waitress who complicates Charles’ dreams.

Additionally, STARZ released the key art for season four, showcasing the split of the brothers’ journey this season as they rapidly expand their empire. BMF season four will air weekly on all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms and on the linear platform on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada.

“BMF” is executive-produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through his G-Unit film and television (executive producer of the “Power” Universe, “For Life,” and “Hip Hop Homicides”), alongside creator, executive producer and Detroit native Randy Huggins (“Star,” “Rebel,” “Power”) with showrunner and executive producer Heather Zuhlke (“Power,” “Tell Me A Story,” “SouthLAnd”). Anthony Wilson, Damione Macedon (“Genius MLK/X” “Power”), and Raphael Jackson, Jr (“Genius MLK/X” “Power”) also serve as executive producers on the series. BMF is produced through Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television in association with Lionsgate Television for STARZ.
