Star City Episode 106, “Awl in a Sack” Exclusive “Tracking Her Down” Clip Sees Irina on the Hunt

What if the Soviets achieved key milestones in space exploration first? While Apple TV’s For All Mankind took place in an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union reached the Moon first that followed American astronauts and politicians, Star City focuses on Soviet cosmonauts, engineers, intelligence officers, and their families living under an authoritarian surveillance state.

Referring to the real-life Star City, the secret Soviet cosmonaut training complex near Moscow. In the show, Star City becomes both a center of technological achievement and a metaphorical prison where everyone is being watched. The Soviet espionage drama that’s more than science fiction examines the human cost behind technological success, playing into the paranoid oppressive KGB influence, internal conspiracies, and surveillance. Audiences soon learn the major danger is on Earth.

In celebration of this inventive and creative series, The Koalition obtained an exclusive clip from Episode 106, “Awl in a Sack,” that premieres Friday, June 26th, on Apple TV. As seen in the “Tracking Her Down” clip below, the fallout in Star City causes plans to unravel. Irina Morozova (a new recruit in the surveillance department, whose role is to listen in on the cosmonauts’ conversations) is seen following a woman onto a bus, only to discover she’s on the wrong bus. What we do know in the previous episode is Lyudmilla Raskova and Irina were discussing efforts to locate runaways. Is Irina following someone who disappeared or defected, creating another crisis inside Star City?

Star City stars Rhys Ifans (“House of the Dragon”), Anna Maxwell Martin (“Motherland”), Agnes O’Casey (“Black Doves”), Alice Englert (“Bad Behaviour”), Solly McLeod (“House of the Dragon”), Adam Nagaitis (“The Terror” and “Chernobyl”), Ruby Ashbourne-Serkis (“I, Jack Wright”), Josef Davies (“Andor”) and Priya Kansara (“Polite Society” and “Bridgerton”).

It is created by Nedivi, Wolpert, and Moore. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive produce alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as Andrew Chambliss and Steve Oster. “Star City” is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.
