Family Sharing on the Xbox One may still happen at some point in the future, Phil Spencer told GamerTag Radio in a recent interview.
The sharing games feature had to be removed from the console after the big Xbox One DRM reversal last year, but it may still come back in some form:
“We looked at the digital features that we had talked about last year and as a gamer, there were a lot of those features that I think really resonated and were smart features for people who really have a lot of games and maybe play on a couple consoles or have bunch of people in the house or want to share with friends. As I look at our monthly update roadmap, those kind of features are in our roadmap. There is a little bit of a challenge now that you’ve got DRM on a disc.”
The ability to share your games with 10 friends sounds like it good be great, however Microsoft need to make sure that it is fair for the consumer and not too restrictive. Hopefully they have learned from their past mistakes and can now go forward and try some of their interesting ideas, I’ll be keen to see what they come up with.
