Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive released new details for their upcoming Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 video game earlier today. The details include console and PC performance settings, and a glimpse of some unlockable achievements/trophies for the hotly anticipated RPG. All the info is included below, along with every character trailer released so far.

PC players will be able to fine-tune the game’s graphics to their liking with a variety of in-game settings and presets (ranging from Low to Epic) to find an experience on their hardware that balances both incredible Unreal Engine 5-powered graphics and consistent framerate for a smooth gameplay experience.
Additionally, console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X can also look forward to playing the game in either Performance or Quality graphics modes to improve framerate or image resolution, respectively, depending on their preferences. For PlayStation 5 Pro owners, Expedition 33 is PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced, meaning players on the console can also look forward to enhanced performance, whilst Xbox players can pre-load the game now ahead of launch, and also take advantage of Xbox Play Anywhere capabilities when the game releases later this month. The game’s digital release will be synced globally to launch at midnight PDT, so players everywhere can start their expedition and discover the game’s many secrets and surprises together.
Those looking to complete their experience in Expedition 33 can also seek to claim the 55 Achievements available in-game, or 56 Trophies when including the Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5. Select Achievements/Trophies players can work towards unlocking include:
- Expeditioner – Reach level 33.
- Overcharge – With Gustave, use a fully charged Overcharge that breaks an enemy.
- Follow The Trail – Find all of the journals from prior expeditions.
- Professional – Defeat a boss without taking any damage.
- Connoisseur – Find all 33 music records.
Players will find many more Achievements/Trophies to discover in the game, including accolades for a variety of challenges as part of the game’s core story, mastering the full potential of each party member’s unique battle skills, and overcoming challenging optional encounters that will put the players’ combat abilities to the test.
Character Trailers
Meet Gustave, the resourceful and dedicated engineer from Lumière. Gustave grew up feeling suffocated by the Paintress’ constant presence. He has dedicated his life to the city’s defense and agricultural systems, striving to protect and provide for his people. Now, as an Expeditioner, he devotes his final year of life to defeating the Paintress and reclaiming a future for Lumière’s children.
Meet Maelle (voiced by Jennifer English), the youngest member of the Expedition. A shy loner, eager to fly. Orphaned at age 3, Maelle has never felt at home in Lumière. She has difficulty connecting with and trusting others, but has come to appreciate her foster brother Gustave. At 16 years of age, Maelle is significantly younger than her fellow Expeditioners. Unlike them, she views the Expedition as her chance to explore the world beyond Lumière and finally forge her own destiny.
Meet Lune, the passionate Scholar and Mage. The daughter of prominent researchers, Lune has a deep thirst for knowledge and has sacrificed everything to complete her parents’ work. Her one goal is to unravel the mystery of the Paintress. Entrusted with charting a path for the Expedition, Lune feels keenly the weight of responsibility and the stakes involved. She cannot – and will not – allow the Expedition to fail.
Meet Sciel, the Cheerful and Serene Warrior. A farmer turned teacher, Sciel is warm and outgoing, enjoying life day by day. She is at ease with death, having long accepted the brutality of their world. But her teasing smile masks a dark and painful past. Though deeply committed to the Expedition, she is untroubled by the specter of failure. They will do all in their power, and it will either be enough, or it won’t.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launches on April 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Game Pass on Day One. Stay tuned for more details.
