In the least imaginative casting decision of the year, video game voice monopolist Troy Baker is set to join the cast of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as Sam, protagonist Nathan Drake’s older brother.
The casting was revealed over twitter where Baker confirmed his new role after Naughty Dog presented the game’s first gameplay footage at the recent Playstation Experience event.
“Good to see you’re alive, little brother.” Yes, that was me. Damn proud.

The part was originally due to be voiced by veteran TV actor Todd Stashwick, known for his roles in shows such as a The Originals and Justified among others. Stashwick is currently working on an unannounced Star Wars game with fellow Naughty Dog ex employee Amy Hennig at former Dead Space studio Visceral Games.
Baker will perform alongside long time Naughty dog voice actor Nolan North, who will reprise his role as Nathan Drake for the character’s fourth numbered outing. Currently two of the hottest properties in the world of video game voiceovers, the pair have recently worked together on Gearbox-Telltale coventure Tales from the Borderlands as well as Naughty Dog Masterwork The Last of US.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is due for release sometime in 2015.
