Today, at the PlayStation Paris Games Week event, We finally got to see what Infamous developer Sucker Punch has been working on. Ghost of Tsushima is being described as an open-world stealth experience set in the 1274 feudal Japan era.
The story will a samurai named Jin, who must fend off the Mongol invasion of the Tsushima Island. As you’ll see in the trailer, Mongols raid Japanese villages and burn them down. The official description from Sony reads:
The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan — until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting — the way of the Ghost — as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is still in development and no release date has been provided at this time. Look out for more on this game in the future.
