Even though it feels longer, it has been less than a year since the release of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Just like every movie that makes box off bank ($760.4 million to be exact), it should be no surprise Hollywood will be gearing up for a sequel.
In light of recent events, many would think all talks of a sequel would be postponed. Fear not, for Hobbs & Shaw star Dwayne Johnson as revealed Hobbs & Shaw 2 is being actively developed.
Fast & Furious and Hobbs & Shaw writer Chris Morgan also confirmed the plan is to bring back the director of the Eteon organization in the future.
During an Instagram Live Q&A, Johnson offered an update on Hobbs & Shaw 2:
“We are developing now the next film, the next [Hobbs & Shaw] movie, and I’m pretty excited about it.[We] just gotta figure out the creative right now, and the direction we’re going to go.”
Fortunately (I guess…), Hobbs & Shaw left an array of plot holes unfilled, including Hobbs’ brother Jonah (Cliff Curtis) and basically his entire family. There was also the appearance of Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart who were more compelling than Hobbs and Shaw.
Hobbs & Shaw 2 will release….whenever.
