During DC Fandome’s Black Adam panel Dwanye Jonson revealed the Justice Society of America will be introduced in the film.
Johnson, who is playing Black Adam, was joined by his co-star Noah Centineo, who plays Adam’s foe Atom Smasher, to present an animated tease of Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone and Atom Smasher as the JSA members coming to the movie.
“I have a knack for destroying bullies, but there are some who think I need help,” Johnson narrated as Black Adam. “Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and their new recruits: Cyclone and Atom Smasher. They call themselves the Justice Society, an organization that believes in fighting for truth and justice. Well I’m going to teach them that the only beliefs I fight for are mine. Welcome to truth, justice, and the Black Adam way.”
The Justice Society of America is a popular superhero team introduced by DC Comics in 1940. Originally including Green Lantern, Atom, Flash, Hawkman, Hour-Man, Spectre, Sandman and Doctor Fate.
Hawkman knew Adam in a previous life back when he was Khufu of Ancient Egypt. Dr. Fate is powered by Nabu, a cosmic Lord of Order who also fought alongside both Hawkman and Black Adam in ancient times.
Johnson ended the panel by issuing a challenge to Flash, Shazam, Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman about how he is going to shift the balance of power in the DC superhero movies.
Black Adam is currently scheduled to open on Dec. 22, 2021 release.
