Disney+ shared brand-new key art and an exciting featurette for the third season of The Mandalorian, the critically acclaimed, original, live-action series from Lucasfilm, streaming exclusively on Disney+ starting March 1st.
Watch the new featurette and join Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa and others as they explore how “The Mandalorian” and its fan-favorite character Grogu rose to engage the world and win the hearts of viewers across the globe.
The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The poster features Mando (Pedro Pascal) standing on a spaceship, with his lil buddy Grogu / Baby Yoda sitting in the ship’s glass navigation dome behind him. Above, we see a dark planet and what appears to be a moon circling around it.
This could be Mandalore, which the Mandalorians are attempting to take back from the Empire. One of these—Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff)—is set to play a prominent role in the new season.
As seen in the new video, showrunner and head writer Jon Favreau calls the reaction to Mark Hamill’s surprise appearance as Luke Skywalker the high point of his whole career. “It makes you grateful that you’re doing what you’re doing.”
Viewers also are given a look at behind-the scenes footage from the first two seasons. The featurette also shows special fan reaction moments to an unexpected surprise from Season 2, and snippets of interviews from Star Wars Celebration from last Spring, including director and writer Jon Favreau describing the high point of his career, saying the reactions to the series makes him grateful.
Back in January, Disney teased season 3 may answer how did Baby Yoga survive in season 1, who rescued him, and Jedi!
The Mandalorian returns for its third season on March 1st, but it is imperative to note many important events in the story of Mando and Baby Yoda took place during The Book Of Boba Fett including teasing Grogu’s memories of Order 66 but it did stop short of showing how he survived. Obi-Wan Kenobi also opened with Order 66 and made the revelation about the origin of Reva directly connected to that moment.
