Alien Romulus Exclusive Clip Shows Viewers A New Take On The Franchise

“In space, no one can hear you scream.” That iconic tagline has resonated in the hearts and souls of generations of moviegoers, and for the past four decades, the Alien franchise has set the bar for the sci-fi/horror genre. The brilliance of Ridley Scott’s 1979 film forged life into a groundbreaking franchise that features remarkable directors (James Cameron, David Fincher, and Jean-Pierre Jeanuet, among others), never-before-seen creatures, and cutting-edge effects that defined what it means to be truly scared.

The journey for the latest standalone film in the epic Alien franchise began when Fede Alvarez presented his ideas to the acclaimed filmmaker years ago. Immediately hooked, Fede Alvarez’s version displayed a true vision, and together with Rodo Sayagues (“Don’t Breathe 2″), they made an Alien film for 2024 that represents a moderating evolution of the franchise.

As seen in our exclusive clip, Alvarez explains his vision an unique take for Alien Romulus. “I’d definitely always been a fan of the franchise. It’s such a film school at every level, not just to do horror, but just how to do it differently. It was a total privilege when it got the chance to work with Ridley and making a new one. It’s just one of those pinch-yourself moments,” said Fede.

Ridley Scott who is a producer on the film stated, “Anyone’s version of something I’ve already done, there’s always trepidation. I thought Alien needed a really fresh view. I’ve seen three of his films, and I knew how he could do it.”

Several years ago, Fade approached Scott Free with an idea for a new take on the Alien franchise. That take was developed, and with Ridley’s guidance, Fade began to work on the screenplay. “It was three years ago now when we had the first conversation with Ridley about it.”

Set between the original Alien and its 1986 sequel Aliens. It takes place on the space station Romulus and Remus, which is made up of two halves. It follows a group of space colonists who discover a terrifying life form while scavenging a derelict space station.
