Samara Weaving and Nicholas Bruans Prepare for Killer Wasps in ‘Hivemind’

For people worldwide, wasps are not just an annoyance, but they know getting stung by one can have terrible side effects, and in rare cases it can cause death. But what if wasps decided to fight back and becoming deadlier?

For Samara Weaving (Ready or Not 2: Here I Come) and Nicholas Bruan (Succession) that scenario is about to become a reality with Hivemind, an environmental thriller from that is now filming in Dublin.

Directed by Irish filmmaker Ciarán Foy (EliCitadelSinister 2), Hivemind is based on a spec script by Peter Gaffney (YetiDon’t Go in the Water), and centers on the evolution of a new breed of killer wasps and the small-town authorities who team up to prevent a deadly global outbreak. Inspired by a true story from 2001, unsavory characters keeping animals in captivity get their just desserts when a set of ultimate predators break free and team up for revenge. Backed by Andrew Schwartzberg and Jon Shiffman’s Renegade Capital, the company launched just last year.

In addition to the cast and director announcements, Amazon MGM Studios has joined Hivemind, with plans to stream the film internationally on Prime Video.
