Autistic Boy Gets Branded A Cheater By Microsoft, Gets Achievement Score Wiped.

Uh oh looks like Microsoft have gotten themselves some bad press. An autistic boy recently had his achievement’s wiped after racking up a huge number of achievement points in a very short space of time. Microsoft claims that the boy used external means to earn the achievements, and thus they also labeled his gamertag with the word “cheater”. His mother was horrified by the situation and actually got in contact with Microsoft, who told her to send them an e-mail. Microsoft responded by ensuring her that the achievements can be earned again, but the cheater tag still remains.

Check out the video below and let us know what you make of it. Is Microsoft evil for this one or is it a reach? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Also look out for when he’s playing 50 Cent “Blood On The Sand”, surely he’s too young to be playing that game? These mothers will never learn.

EDIT: It appears that this kid actually did cheat, meaning that this news story was clearly a means of discrediting Microsoft. Check out the quote below.

Stephen Toulouse, Microsoft’s Director of Police and Enforcement wrote, “The account Zombie Kill67 transferred from the Xbox it is normally seen on, to an Xbox in another city. The account earned several achievements for Halo-3 that can only be done online and in succession. It was clear they were unlocked out of order and offline. Earning successive online achievements out of order and offline is an impossible feat, not due to skill, but due to the technology of the system. It can only be done by modifying the account and faking the achievements.”

It’s an Xbox Crime that could have only been committed with Julias’ gamertag and password.

Now Julias’ mother, Jennifer Zdenek, says her son did give his information to a fellow gamer online so he could get what is known as “Recon Armor”.
