EA Sports had a fan vote to decide the latest cover athlete for the upcoming anniversary title Madden NFL 25. Instead of naming it Madden 2014, it’s named “25” after the fact that it’s the 25th Madden game to be released. The final voting round was between Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson and Sanders came out on top.
In celebration, EA also released a new “run free” trailer for the game featuring some nice visuals and gameplay of different running backs dominating the Green Bay Packers for whatever reason. You can check the video out above and see the full cover design for the Xbox 360 version below.
Some of the key advancements for this upcoming Madden include:
- Run Free: Unlock the power, precision, and creativity of the NFL ball-carrier. Whether you’re a slashing running-back, dual-threat QB, or ball-hawking safety, unleash 30 new moves and string together devastating combos with the all-new precision modifier.
- Year 2 of the award-winning Infinity Engine brings both a more polished physics simulation and introduces the all-new Force Impact System. Power moves including the Hit Stick, Truck, dive tackle and more have been completely redesigned to harness the full potential of Infinity Engine 2, giving you more control over the outcome of a play than ever before.
More features are set to be revealed at future dates. Keep an eye on the official site for all the details and make sure you check out my review of last year’s Madden 2013 right here. We also did a great Super Bowl preview game you can see here.
