Earlier today, PlayStation Now Director of Marketing Peter Jamshidi finally revealed two brand new subscription plans for the game streaming service. Starting on January 13th, players will be able to subscribe to the streaming service for either $19.99 a month or $44.99 for 3 months (roughly $15 per month). The video embedded above gives a brief preview of over 100 PlayStation 3 games that will be available to play on day one.
Jamshidi also stated that the service will launch on PlayStation 4 first and that the program will continue to flourish on other devices at a later time. Additionally, a brand new PlayStation Now theme will be available for free to PS4 owners later this month. Anyone who downloads the theme will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a one-year subscription of PlayStation Now.
Having had a chance to experience PlayStation Now, I personally think that the subscription prices are a bit steep. I also think that some of the high profile games offered by this service might not be quite as valuable if the developers keep on making remastered versions of the same games. With all that said, the service will still be appealing to some and really that is all that matters to Sony at the end of the day.
Will any of you be subscribing to either one of these monthly plans? If so, which games are you primarily looking forward to playing through the service? Please feel free to let us know your picks and more in the comments section below.
