Yesterday Gearbox Software released the latest trailer for their upcoming release of Aliens: Colonial Marines, however it was not well received by fans or even the makers of the game itself.
The fans seem disappointed by the dialogue the trailer features, and with reason, as it’s full of generic one-liners that you would find in every cheesy action movie. Take a minute to watch the trailer above.
Interestingly the games’ writer Mikey Neumann has gone on Twitter to publicly state that the dialogue found in the Aliens trailer is not even in the game and ensured everyone knew that he did not write it.
Mikey has now deleted the tweet, probably to avoid getting into trouble at work, it’s almost certainly frowned upon to disown your own game publicly.
At the end of the day this is good news for fans, it means the game will not feature the voice work heard in the trailer. The problem is that some people who were not sold on the game could already be put off.
Aliens: Colonial Marines releases February 12 on Xbox 360, PC and PS3, with a Wii U version coming later this year.
What do you think of the trailer? Was it right for the writer to publicly comment on it? Let me know in the comments below.
