Deep Silver Buys Homefront IP, Troubled Crytek UK No Longer Developing

Koch Media and Deep Silver today purchased the rights to Homefront, meaning that Crytek UK will no longer be developing the game.

The news now means that Deep Silver Dambuster Studios will be taking over development of Homefront: The Revolution. Crytek UK has been the subject of a lot of controversy over the past month, with employees not being paid on time and numerous people leaving the company, this new development puts the studio at further risk.

We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,” says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media Group. “We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path they have been walking in the last years.

Hopefully Crytek UK can bounce back after all of the recent trouble, and lets hope that Homefront wasn’t their last hope to remain together. Additionally we should hope that the game is not too negatively affected by the switching of developers, early opinions of the game had been very promising.
