Dotemu’s Upcoming 2026 Video Game Lineup Already Looks Interesting

If you’ve been following us, then you already know that we’re huge fans of Dotemu. 2025 has been a great year for them, working with other outstanding studios to publish Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Absolum, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion.

With 2026 only a few weeks away, Dotemu has already announced two more titles that they plan to publish early next year. Today, I want to share my thoughts on both of these games, discuss why they are interesting, and whether they can achieve the same mass appeal and critical success as the titles released this year.

Battlestar Galactica: Shattered Hopes

First up is Battlestar Galactica: Shattered Hopes, a tactical narrative-driven roguelite being developed exclusively for PC by indie studio Alt Shift in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences. Originally announced at Gamescom, Shattered Hopes revolves around players commanding a fleet of spaceships while battling a sentient robot species named the Cylons. Managing ongoing crises, making decisions, and participating in high-risk battles are the core features players can expect from this game.

Battlestar Galactica is still highly praised by sci-fi fans today, so it makes perfect sense to create a game in this universe. Combining tactical combat with story and roguelite elements also sounds very compelling, and I’m eager to see how these creative decisions impact gameplay. Absolum is one game that surprised me this year, as I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the roguelite formula within a beat-’em-up game. I ended up loving this concept and look forward to seeing how Alt Shift executes on their unique vision for this title.

 Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!

Next up is Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!, a retro first-person shooter being developed for PC and consoles by Auroch Digital, creators of Warhammer 40K Boltgun. Taking place 25 years after the first movie, Ultimate Bug War! follows war veteran Samantha Dietz as she relives her hunt for the dreadful Assassin bug during the First Bug War. Players can expect to explore familiar and new settings with access to 14 weapons, 11 tactical supports, and a Mech vehicle.

This game was announced during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, a few days ago, with a full endorsement by General Johnny Rico, aka Casper Van Dien himself. For Starship Troopers fans, this is exactly how you would want a new project revealed, and I’m very much looking forward to learning more about this game in the weeks and months ahead.

Battlestar Galactica: Shattered Hopes

Dotemu has several other unannounced projects slated for release next year and beyond. With The Game Awards taking place later this week, some of these announcements could be made at this show or at other future events. Either way, Dotemu’s upcoming 2026 video game lineup already looks interesting, and I’m curious to see if both titles will deliver.

Are you excited about Battlestar Galactica: Shattered Hopes and Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! based on what you’ve seen so far? What other revived IPs do you want to see Dotemu publish or develop in the future? Feel free to leave your thoughts on these topics and more in the comments section below.
