Earlier this week, Hello Games confirmed that their highly anticipated No Man’s Sky video game will launch as a PS4 timed exclusive title before coming to the PC at a later date. This news originally surfaced from an interview with Hello Games Founder Sean Murray that is scheduled to appear in the September issue of Edge Magazine.
According to Murray, the studio got in a bit of trouble for saying that they wanted No Man’s Sky to feel like a console game and he released the following statement to clarify his thoughts:
“We’ve always had PC in mind but in my head (console-y) means solid framerate and immediate controls. I think a PC game can be ‘console-y’ and it’s intended as a compliment, but I get in trouble for saying it.”
No Man’s Sky wowed critics and gamers everywhere when it was first revealed to the world during Spike TV’s VGX 2013 awards show.Truth be told, we already knew that a game of this multitude wouldn’t stay exclusive to one console for long. While No Man’s Sky doesn’t have an official release date yet, the developers did say that PS4 owners of the game will definitely have it sooner and alot longer than those who decide to buy it on PC. There is still no word on an Xbox One release date, but we can assume that will all change sooner rather than later.
