Fallout 4 Fans Determine Locations and Scale of Game Based on Real Life Map of Boston

You’ve got to give it to Fallout fans. Dedicated vault dwellers across the globe have been picking apart any detail they can get after Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 was finally coming. After the trailer was released, a group of fans decided to try and figure out just where in Boston the game was taking place, and how large a world we could expect.

The people over at The Pre-War Hub spent over 10 hours combing through screenshots and the trailer to try and figure out just how big the map of Fallout 4 will be. You can view the entire album of images right here, or watch the video above for a more in depth explanation.

Using an actual map of Boston via Google Maps, the team was able to get a general scale of just how far everything is in the game. The Boston Statehouse was used as the primary tool for figuring out how large the map would be. After getting a rough estimate for scale, the fans were able to guess that the map could possibly be around 30 square miles, which would make it double the size of Skyrim‘s world.

There’s tons of other awesome stuff found by the team, so I urge you to check it out. It’s clear that the Fallout 4 hype train has already left the station, and thanks to dedicated fans like these, we might be learning a lot more about Bethesda’s game.
