Earlier today, Bethesda Softworks announced a brand new standalone prequel for their critically-acclaimed Wolfenstein: The New Order video game. This new piece of content is called Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and it will be available as a digital download for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting on May 5th. The video embedded above gives us a general idea of what to expect from the game.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood takes place in 1946 and revolves around B.J. Blazkowicz’s embarking on a two-part mission to steal the coordinates of General Deathshead’s secret compound and confront a crazed Nazi archaeologist in the city of Wulfburg. This prequel will include new weapons and plenty of secrets that will dive further into the Wolfenstein universe.
I wrote up an in-depth review of Wolfenstein: The New Order last year and I still think it was one of the best shooters of 2014. Now that this prequel is coming out, I definitely would encourage you all to check the game out if you still haven’t.
Stay tuned for more news on Wolfenstein: The Old Blood this upcoming weekend during PAX East 2015.
