April was a rather slow month, with only two titles worth buying, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Super Street Fighter IV. We managed to make April’s NPD numbers a bit more exciting here at TheKoalition.com by placing bets and predictions. F. Mills predicts that SSFIV will sell more on PS3 than on Xbox 360 and A.B. Frasier doesn’t believe GTA: Liberty City Stories on PS3 will even chart, if it does, he’ll be condemned into owning a PS3. So let’s see whose right and whose wrong.
On the hardware side, the Wii had a slow month selling only 277K. For the fourth month in a row, the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3. The Xbox 360 sold 185K and the PS3 sold 180K. Guess Sony is still having those “supply issues.” Sitting at the top of the software side is Splinter Cell: Conviction selling 486K units. God Of War III fell from the top spot to the fifth spot, selling 180K units. The numbers for spots 5 through 10 aren’t available for some reason. Mills and A.B. Frasier were right with their predictions, SSFIV sold better on PS3 and GTA: Liberty City Stories didn’t even chart.
