June is always a gamers favorite month for one reason, E3. All the new trailers, reveals, and announcements builds up the anticipation and might even convince us to prepare for the future by purchasing a new console. We’ll that’s exactly what E3 2010 did. Here are the best selling video games and consoles of June 2010.
The big “winner” on hardware side is Microsoft’s new Xbox 360 “slim” selling 451K, not all of which are the new model. The new Xbox 360 redesign was unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 conference and brings Xbox 360 sales up by over 100%. Sony’s Playstation 3 sales are also up from last month selling an impressive 304K.
Red Dead Redemption stays at number one for the second month in a row selling 582K units on Xbox 360 alone. Following right behind is Super Mario Galaxy 2 with 548K units sold, which is only down 20K from last month. Exact numbers for entries 5 to 10 are once again missing, but as you can see the surprise here is Toy Story 3. The DS version of the game came in at number 7, guess they really enjoyed the movie. I would also like to point out that both console versions of UFC Undisputed 2010 managed to stay in the top 10 for the second straight month.
