Yes you read the headline correctly. Everyone expected this to be an announcement at E3, and once they found out it wasn’t announced, they lost all hope. But now EA has announced that Mass Effect 2 will indeed be coming to the Playstation 3 complete with tons of new content. The Playstation 3 edition of Mass Effect 2 is to be released January 2011, one year after the Mass Effect 2 launch for Xbox 360 and PC. The question now is if it’s worth it for PS3 gamers who have yet to experience Mass Effect 1. My colleague Fergus Mills says:

Could some of the extra content indeed be a summary of the first game? That would be pretty smart if they actually did it. I think it’s pretty safe to say that Mass Effect 3 will be a multi platform launch. Below is the announcement trailer of Mass Effect 2 for Playstation 3.
