Earlier a window on the Xbox 360 popped up revealing Gears of War 3’s release date to be April of 2011, which means the game would be released a year from now. The announcement comes just as Cliffy B is set to reveal a new game from Epic on US TV, which VG247 reports is heavily tipped to be Gears of War 3 itself. The window on Xbox Live has since been removed, though it is unknown why. Was it a mishap? Are Epic and Microsoft trying to tease us? Or are they generally just trying to throw us off?
Time will no doubt tell if the window was indeed giving us truthful information, but the whole appearance and disappearance of the window is very fishy. The world is now in high anticipation for the game which is said to end off the Gears of War story, which debuted four years ago. Gears of War 2 was released in the Fall of 2008, meaning April would be a completely new window (no pun intended) to receive a Gears of War title.
