Everyone knew Microsoft’s motion controller Kinect would be a success, but no one could have predicted that it would sell out UK retailers. Kinect’s November 10th UK release date is looking to be a great day for Microsoft as retailers have sold out of Kinect units. Game, Amazon, and Play are all out of Kinect units and are notifying customers about their stock issues.
Amazon are informing their customers about Kinect availability by email; whilst Game cannot promise that new pre-order customers will have Kinect day one, and will issue units with first come first served. Kinect seems to be very popular and the demand for the motion controller is high. For Kinect to sell out in major UK retailers I can foresee the first ever successful Midnight Launch for a gaming peripheral. I just hope I get my Kinect unit with Kinectimals and Dance Central.
