Realtime Worlds Lays Off APB Team, Future Of APB In Question

The news has hit that Realtime Worlds has layed off the entire MyWorld team today, making as many as 60 people redundant. Not only was the MyWorld team responsible for being behind the new MyWorld project that was revealed last month, but they were also around to manage the APB project which only came out months ago. Not only that but there were emails sent out yesterday revealing a new plan to make cuts to the ABP MMO, which has everybody in question about the state of Realtime Worlds.

“APB’s staff will be reduced to admin and a skeleton staff of devs and artists to keep it running and do general updates, but this looks like the end of RTW.”

Rumors have been circulating all week that Realtime Worlds may have gone bust, and this new lay off may support the theory. They may even be planning to sell APB completely as it has been reported that the project cost the company over $100 million dollars, with no relevant return. Does this mean the end of APB already? Very upsetting news if true.
