THQ Brings Online Pass To The WWE Universe, Used Games…Rest In Peace

Remember when EA introduced a strategy on how to deal with the used games sales situation?, it basically means If you want to play the game online you need to have a new copy or also have the option to buy an Online pass for $10 on XBL/PSN.

Well THQ introduced that same strategy for their games beginning with UFC 2010, but now it will enter the WWE universe with Smackdown vs Raw 2011, but in a more interesting way because it also makes buying new games even more appealing.

If you buy Smackdown vs Raw 2011 new for either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 you will get free access to the game’s first DLC pack which brings over additional content such as additional wrestlers, alternative gear, stuff like that. You are basically getting an entire DLC pack for free because anyone who buy a used copy of Smackdown vs. Raw this year will have to pay up $9.99 on PSN or 800 Microsoft points for the extra features.

Think about this for a second, we know these used game sales prices are like $54.99 and for the full experience you need to pay $9.99, why would you buy it used? if at 59.99 you get the full experience, again think about that for a second. This strategy is genius and most importantly beneficial to the gamers, I see this strategy becoming the norm in the gaming industry, let know me what you think.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 slams into stores on October 26 for everybody console PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP, and Wii.
