Nobody could have guessed what Game Informer staffers were teasing about, regarding to their Jan. 2012 cover story. Lucky for us we don’t have to wait any longer, and the surprise actually turned out to be pretty good.
The latest Game Informer cover features a new ‘South Park’ game developed by RPG developer Obisidian. Much like the developer’s previous titles, Alpha Protocol and Fallout New Vegas, South Park is said to be a ‘full scale RPG’. Creators of the series, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are set to pen the script and to reprise their roles as the voices of many of the shows classic characters. Some minor plot details were given. You are said to be playing as a new kid in South Park, “it’ll be up to you to make friends and defend the town from a wide range of threats.”
I stopped watching South Park a few years ago, but I’m finding myself extremely excited for this game. I like RPG’s and getting to explore the world, and now we are getting the chance to explore a familiar world. That is what excites me the most.
