This week’s Throwback Thursday is a true classic, and to be quite honest I doubt whether you can officially call yourself a Hip Hop fan if you haven’t heard this song. Life’s a Bitch comes from Nas‘s debut album Illmatic (1994) and is one of the many memorable songs from the album. To this day people still name this body of work as Nas’s best, so it was only a matter of time before it showed up on our Throwback Thursday.
The song introduced the world to AZ, who is very talented in his own right and really shines on this song. Life’s a Bitch also features a cornet solo from Nas’s father Olu Dara. A lot of the songs themes ring true even in today’s climate. It’s such a timeless song that I can never skip it once it shows up on my iPhone.
