Earlier today, Bethesda Softworks released 12 minutes of gameplay footage from their highly anticipated survival horror game The Evil Within.
The video above follows Detective Sebastian Castellanos as he awakens to a horrific setting and is forced to test his survival skills in an atmosphere full of creatures. This gameplay footage is the very embodiment of survival horror and shows us exactly why this is one of the most promising games the genre has seen in quite awhile.
The Evil Within is without a doubt primed to be Shinji Mikami’s finest project to date. While there still is no official release date for the game, Bethesda’s decision to keep releasing trailers proves to be a smart move. The gameplay footage speaks for itself in the sense that it speaks volumes about the game’s suspense, and horrific enemy encounters. Fans have seen more than enough from this title and won’t hesitate to play it as soon as it becomes available.
The Evil Within is scheduled to release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC , Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2014. What do you all think of the extended gameplay footage above? Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
