Indie developer Almost Human have announced that they are working on Legend of Grimrock 2, the sequel to the surprise hit and successful Legend of Grimrock.
The news was announced in a lengthy blog post over at the games’ website, here’s an excerpt of why they started the sequel:
“Creating a mere DLC or expansion to Grimrock simply would not have felt right. As today’s meeting proved, we still have a lot of ideas we’d like to explore, lots and lots of new content already done (originally made for a DLC/expansion) and a big engine update in the works. Simply put, a DLC would have limited too much what we can do. With a full blown sequel we can raise Grimrock to the next level.”
Last month Almost Human released the image below as an example of what they were working on, so it’s a safe bet that this is an early taste of what Legend of Grimrock 2 will look like.
The original game was a surprise hit and Almost Human have announced that the game has sold over 600,000 copies, so it is not surprising that a sequel is in development.
