Earlier today, Ubisoft released a brand new trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag centered around the game’s multiplayer mode.
The video above offers a montage of various assassin’s facing off against each other throughout several different settings. The encounters in this trailer are brutally unforgiving and consist of enemies being stabbed and shot in the face at point blank range. Fans who have played multiplayer modes in the previous Assassin’s Creed games should have a good idea of what to expect from Black Flag. While this video doesn’t go into detail about each multiplayer mode available within Black Flag, my best guess is that Ubisoft will be releasing even more videos soon to emphasize these features well before the game hits stores in October.
After taking a look at this trailer, I’ll be the first to admit that the multiplayer looks fun but still seems unnecessary. Today many developers have the mindset that they need to have multiplayer to convince more people to try out their games. Ultimately, I believe the Black Flag single player campaign will do well on it’s own and thus the multiplayer aspect will appeal to some but definitely not everyone.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag releases on October 29th in North America and on November 1st in Europe for the PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will be released in November. Are any of you looking forward to trying out the multiplayer modes in Black Flag?
